On April 2, 1877, she was married to Albert A. Ernst at St. Joseph's Church in Peoria, and came to live on a farm in Akron Township, where they resided until the death of Mr. Ernst 16 years ago. She then moved to Peoria where she resided until her death which occurred April 28.
To this union were born nine children, the eldest, Nicholas G., having preceded her in death three years ago. Surviving are Sr. M. Stanislaus, St. Joseph's Home, Peoria; Mrs. Mamie Gast, Kewanee; Edit, Moline; Mrs. Theresa Holtke, Peoria; Mrs. Phil Ernst, Edelstein; Joseph F., Chicago; James A. and Celia, Peoria. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mear of St. Joseph's Home and Sr. M. Philomene, Immaculate Conception Convent, Peoria, and eight grandchildren, besides numerous nieces and nephews and more distant relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ernst were held from St. Mark's Church in Peoria in charge of Msgr. Burke and she was buried beside her husband in St. Clement's Cemetery, Dunlap.
