FORMER CARO RESIDENT DIES AT SAGINAW HOME

Funeral Services for Mrs. Alice J. Bonker to be Held Today at the Carl Palmer Residence.

Mrs. Alice J. Bonker, widow of the late Nehemiah Bonker, died at her home in Saginaw dearly Wednesday morning. Her maiden name was Alice J. Gibbs and she was an early resident of Caro. She was born in New York in 1854 and at the age of nine months came with her parents, Melvin and Clarissa Gibbs to Caro. She was the last of that family, three brothers and two sisters having passed away before her death. They were Marvin Gibbs, Mrs. Myra Gibbs Delling, T.O. Gibbs, and Mrs. T.W. Atwood.

In 1873 she was united in marriage with Nehemiah Bonker and they made their home in Caro until 1902 when they removed to Saginaw, where Mr. Bonker died in 1915. Two children survive: Miss Lois Bonker and Olney G. Bonker of Saginaw who were their mother's constant companions to the last. She also leaves several nephews and nieces and other relatives in this community.

The body was brought to the home of her niece, Mrs. Carl Palmer, and funeral services will be held there Friday afternoon at three o'clock under the direction of Huston-Arms. The service will be read by Miss Margaret Mitts of Saginaw.
