Palma Kreger, 87, died at the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center in Clear Lake on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009.
Funeral services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clear Lake with the Rev. Michael Enderle officiating. Burial will is in the Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. The Houseman Family Funeral Home of Clear Lake is in charge of arrangements.
• • Palma was born March 20, 1921, to Fred and Marie (Casberg) Lenning in Bruce. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Palma went to school in Bruce.
On Dec. 11, 1939, Palma married Dale Kreger at the Blom Prairie Lutheran Church parsonage in Toronto. They lived on the family farm, where they farmed and raised their family.
In September 1988, they retired from farming and moved into Clear Lake. Dale died in July 1996. Palma entered the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center at Clear Lake in December 2002.
Palma was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her family, especially the little ones.
Palma also enjoyed gardening, flowers and caring for her grandchildren . She is survived by two sons: LeRoy (Patty Jo) Kreger of Lake Norden and George (Connie) Kreger of Clear Lake; two daughters, Loretta (Donald) Tvedt of Brandt and Marjean Diekman of Clear Lake; 24 grandchildren, 43 greatgrandchildren ; one great great-grandson ; two sisters: Hazel (Dick) Ching of Watertown and Joyce (Dale) Svennes of Brookings; a brother, Stanley (Marlys) Lenning, of Sioux Falls; three sisters-in-law , Leslie Holt of Clear Lake, Corlyis Lenning of Brookings and Maxine Lenning of Huron; one brother-in-law , Robert Hintz of Brookings and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; an infant son, Loren Kreger; a son LaVerne Kreger; one granddaughter, Debra Tvedt; one great-grandson , Miles Tvedt; four brothers, Morris, Art, Lloyd and Clifford Lenning; five sisters, Eunice Colberg, Florence Hintz, Joyce Constance Lenning, Hilda and Helga Lenning.
