She was born September 2, 1911 in Vernal to Henry H. (Hank) Merkley and Susan Hullinger Merkley. She married William Rial Chew July 1, 1937 in Craig, Colorado. She was a housewife, member of the LDS Church and worked in Relief Society.
Survivors are husband of Grand Junction; two sons, two daughters, George D., Vernal; Stanley R. and Karol Chew, both of Grand Junction; Mrs. Dalles E (Eula) Jacobsen, Jensen; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ross (Venice) Rooks, Vernal and one brother, Lawrence Merkley, Dallas, Texas.
Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park Monday.
