Elvira A. Arthur, 96, of Edgerton, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at the Edgerton Hospital. She was born in Edgerton on Sept. 24, 1913, daughter of the late Eduard and Bertha (Schumacher) Ruosch. Elvira attended Edgerton High School. She married James W. Arthur Sr. on Nov. 19, 1932, in Rockford, IL. James passed away on Feb. 11, 1980. Elvira worked at R & S Root Beer Stand (now A&W) and at Nunn Bush Shoe Factory as a stamper for 10 years. She was a member of Edgerton United Methodist Church for many years and taught Sunday School. She was still attending church until November of this year. She was also a 4-H leader and a past president and officer of the Sheepskin School, and enjoyed quilting.
