TISHOMINGO - Verna Mae (Shackelford) Greene, 96, died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. She was born Oct. 3, 1913. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of Paden Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville with Bro. Mark Howard and Minister Garry Martin officiating. Burial will be in Forked Oak Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Donnie Greene (Lou Ann) of Ripley; one daughter, Hilma Pardue of Tishomingo; four grandchildren, Gary Pardue (Kathy), Cheryl Pardue, Beth Ward (Steve) and Jamie Greene; and one great-granddaughter, Molly Pardue.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin S. Greene; one son-in-law, Skip Pardue; three brothers, Ellis, Clovis and Levi Shackelford; and one sister, Irene Wroten.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and until service time on Saturday.
