Cora Bell Strain is the daughter of Alley Henry Strain (1850-1910) and Martha Annette Cleckler (1854-1891). She married Walter C. Mote (1875-1937, son of Silas W. Mote and Sarah Adaline Simmons) on 3 December 1899 in Gordon County, Georgia.

MRS. CORA MOTE
Mrs. Cora Mote, age 89, of Calhoun passed away in the Cherokee Acres Rest Home Tuesday at 10:45 p.m.
Mrs. Mote was the widow of the late Walter Mote who preceded her in death in 1937. She was a member of the Hill City Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John Edge of Calhoun and Mrs. Joe Johnston of Lakemore, Ohio; one son, E. L. Mote of Chattanooga; two sisters, Mrs. R. F. Acree of Calhoun and Mrs. W. L. Sparks of Karson [Canon] City, Colo; one brother, J. H. Strain of Atlanta, five grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Hill City Baptist Church Thursday at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. H. E. Holland and the Rev. John Bledsoe. Music will be arranged by Mrs. Joe Davis. Burial in Hill City Cemetery. COMBS FUNERAL HOME
