W. S. Dotson died March 11, 1923, age 82 years, 2 months and 20 days. He was buried in the Wharton Creek cemetery March 12, the funeral being conducted by Rev. Henry Steele. The deceased was born and reared in Madison county and resided here almost his entire life. He was an ex Union soldier. He is survived by his aged wife and eight children, 38 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Six of his children were at his bedside when the end came. They were J. L. and A. L. Dotson, Mrs. Wm. Frisby, Mrs. A. D. Bolinger, Mrs. R. A. Dotson and Miss Elmirie Dotson. The absent children were Mrs. S. Y. Collins and Mrs. Wm. Burgess, both of who reside in Oklahoma.
