Funeral services for Vernie Druin, 92, of Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Coots' Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville.
He died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at the VA Hospital, Louisville.
He was born Jan. 12, 1917, in Belmont, Ky., to the late William and Carrie Kate VanVactor Druin.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and was a retired truck driver with Banner Transfer.
He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include his wife, Jean G. Druin of Jeffersonville; sons, Vernie Druin Jr. and Gregory L. Quire, both of Shepherdsville, Ky., and Brent L. Quire of New Albany; daughters, Doris J. Thompson of Louisville, Tisa J. Hammond of New Albany, and Jodie M. Morales of Paducah, Ky.; sisters, Anna Mae Thomasson of Jeffersonville, Maudie Montgomery of Indianapolis, and Lillian Howlett of Shepherdsville, Ky; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to 8 p.m. today.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the VA Hospice.
