Born December 23, 1920 in Garnett, SC, he was the son of the late Clinton Giles Appleby and DeLoach Appleby.
Mr. Appleby served his country in the United States Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant and later retiring from the Federal Aviation Agency in Atlanta, GA.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting in the lowcountry.
Mr. Appleby is survived by his wife, Syble Stancell Appleby, one daughter, Geraldine Appleby Acuff and husband Edward of Tallahassee, FL, one grandson, J.E.B. Acuff of Stuart, FL and one brother, Clyde Appleby and wife Gayle of Garnett, SC.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Bert Appleby, Giles Appleby and Bobby Appleby and one sister, Catherine Appleby Calloway.
Interment, with Military Honors, was in the Union Cemetery.
