DAWSONVILLE, Georgia --- Graveside services for BERT R. APPLEBY, 54, of 1038 Chestatee Point, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 1996, from Union Cemetery in Garnett, with the Rev. Paul Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Estill tonight from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Mr. Appleby died on Thursday, June 6, 1996 at his residence following a period of declining health. A native of Garnett and former resident of Dunwoody, Georgia, he had resided in Dawson County since 1990. He was a U. S. Army veteran, a manufacturer's representative for Weed Wizard and a Methodist.
Surviving are his wife, Jean P. Appleby of Dawsonville, Georgia; daughter, Sylvia A. Appleby of Dunwoody, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Dale R. and Betsy S. Appleby of Atlanta; sister, Catherine Calloway of Estill; brothers, Eugene Appleby of Hilton Head, Clyde Appleby of Estill, Bobby Appleby of Estill, Giles Appleby of Hardeeville; several nieces, nephews, and other family members. ~~~ THE STATE, Columbia, SC, June 8, 1996, page 20
