THE DAILY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Thur., Dec. 3, 1936, p. 2, col. 5. The Fieldale community lost one of its most esteemed residents in the passing Wednesday of Mrs. J. A. Stegall, Sr., age about 67, which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom M. Hundley, at Fieldale. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, followed by burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Surviving are her husband and the following children: Mesdames T. M. Hundley, John P. Covington, J. A. Ingram and R. D. Hodnett, Messrs. Charles H., J. Alfred Jr., George and Watt Stegall, all of the county. Four brothers: Dewey, Silas, Joe and James Minter, and one sister, Mrs. Julia Long, all of this city, also survive.
