Mrs. Merle Norton, 51, widow of Charles Norton, died Wednesday morning at 12:40 o'clock in the Wabash County hospital after a seven months' illness. Mrs. Norton had resided with her father, Omar Wilson, on Wabash R.R. 2.
She was born April 10, 1890, in Miami county to Omar and Dora Bell Wilson. She attended the Bone Brake Theological Seminary in Dayton, O., and was a graduate nurse of the Deaconness hospital in Indianapolis. Mrs. Norton was a registered nurse in both Indiana and Ohio.
She was married to Charles Norton who preceded her in death a few years ago. After their marriage they lived for 11 years in Edenburg, Tex.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Merle at home, and the father, Omar Wilson, and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Sylvester Biddle of Peru, Thomas J. Wilson, Mrs. Lloyd Irelan, Pleasant L. Wilson and Mrs. Paul Overly, all of Wabash, Mrs. Delbert Hostelttler of Logansport, Lloyd Wilson of Miami county and Mrs. Gale Fried of Findlay O. A brother preceded her in death.
The body was taken to the Hoover Funeral home where it will remain for services to be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with J. B. Glick, pastor of the Rich Valley United Brethren church, in charge. Burial will be in Falls cemetery.
