Robert Thurston Hadley died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 from complications related to a subdural hematoma. He resided at 1130 North 850 East in Bountiful, Utah at the time of his death.


Born January 21, 1926 in Ogden, Utah to John Hipwell Hadley and Laura Thurston, the ninth of eleven children.


He served in the Army Air Corps as a pilot. After World War II, he graduated from Weber State College and the University of Utah.


He married Joan Doxey on September 11, 1950 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They later settled in Bountiful.


He owned a construction company and built homes in the Bountiful area. Later in life he worked for the LDS Church.


He was dedicated to the Lord and served energetically in many different church callings, including many years of temple service. He loved to work. He enjoyed many rounds of golf with friends and family. He lovingly kept an immaculate yard with beautiful roses.


Survived by: siblings Edward, Jeri, Tom, and Rodd. His loving wife Joan. Children Robb (Jann) Hadley, Susan (Marcus) Faust, Julie (Brent) Wallace, Chris (Julie) Hadley, Jeff (Ann) Hadley, and Gina (Richard) Moss; twenty-three grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bountiful Thirteenth Ward Chapel, 1350 North 650 East. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment-Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery, Bountiful.
