Great-Aunt Laura Bridges Rycroft lived most of her life in Wisconsin on a farm.

Laura moved from Wisconsin to her sister's, Aunt Fannie's home in Elkhart, TX just before she died. I remember her as a tiny little thing in the bed on Aunt Fannie's enclosed back porch. She gave me a lovely green glass rosary and Sue Sirman Morris, my sister, a penny and a small pair of scissors. Aunt Laura seemed to have Arthritis in her hands and feet and probably was not more than 5 foot tall.

There are pictures of my sister Sue and I at Aunt Laura's farm where we went for Mother's and Soffus' honeymoon about December of 1941. There is one picture of us with Aunt Laura on a fence.

I have a Certificate of Death on Laura Roycraft, which I got in Palestine Recorders Office. Laura died on Oct. 2, 1950 in Palestine TX. Her father was James Bridges and her mother was Mary Gary. The informant was J.E De Noon. Laura died from Lobar Pneumonia and had Arthritis Deformous. She was removed from Palestine, TX on Oct 3, 1950 and transported to Chippewa Falls cemetery in Wisconson. The state file # on the certificate is 6001. Her name was shown on her brother's John M. Bridges birth certificate, she was certifying to John's birth certificate using the same spelling of Laura Roycraft, as on the death certificate
