Mr. Jack Russell died Nov. 14, 2009 in Athens.

He was born March 23, 1911 in Buffalo to the late Thomas Riley and Dora Jane Martin Russell.

Mr. Russell resided in the Wortham and Teague area 30 years before moving to Brownsboro in 1995.He was a farmer and carpenter most of his working life, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Oakwood.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Russell, second wife Mary Emma Russell, longtime companino Minnie Knight, sons Billy Wayne Russell, Jack Edward Russell and daughter Kathy Ann Russell.

He is survived by: sons Williams Lee Russell, Brownsboro, Harold Ray Russell of Clear Lake, Roger Dale Russell of Cross Roads; daughters Wanda Jane Aaron of Red Oak, Marion LaNell Scott of Cross Roads, Dorothy Sue Wise of Brownsboro; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.

Services for Jack Russell, 98, of Brownsboro are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, in Brownsboro with the Rev. Jon Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Jennings Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens.

Pallbearers will include Scott Lewis, Shane Lewis, James Darden, Chris Russell, Kirk Russell, Chris Wise, Matt Wise, Tommy Killman and Randy Fambrough.
