Called to Long Rest
Mrs. Senia Heisterberg passed away on Saturday last at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Davison, in Salida, at the age of 76 years past.
The deceased had been ill at intervals for several years, about five years ago undergoing an operation. Her time late years was spent with her daughters here and at Salida and she had only recently returned to Salida after a visit here. He death is attributed directly to uremic poisoning from which she suffered only a brief period.
Mrs. Heisterberg was numbered with the early settlers of this valley, having come here with her husband in 1870, where they settled and reared a large family.
She was a fond mother, a kindly neighbor and her friends are numbered by her acquaintances. Her departure is greatly mourned by all.
Three daughters and one son survive, Mrs. Harry Kettle and W. C. Heisterberg residing here, and Mrs. Joe Rhom and Mrs. Ed Davison, residing in Salida, and three grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Grother, at Coal Camp, Mo., and a brother, Martin Mahnkin at Sale Lake City, Utah.
The remains were brought here Monday and the funeral took place Tuesday forenoon, at the Lutheran church, the funeral service being conducted by the Rev. Otto Herwagen, after which interment was made in the Ula cemetery, beside the grave of her husband, whose death preceded that of Mrs. Heisterberg about fourteen years.
