Violet V. Steinborn, 64, of Brownsville, died Tuesday at a Eugene care center.
She was born Violet Pugh, Jan. 6, 1924, in Oakridge. She married on July 22, 1941, in Reno, Nev., and they moved from Oakridge to Crawfordsville in 1949 and to Brownsville in 1950. Her husband died Jan. 5, 1974.
Mrs. Steinborn was a member of the Sweet Home Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She is survived by sons Ed of Sweet Home, Dennis of Brownsville and Daniel of Eugene; daughter Carol Goldwater of Banks; brothers Jesse Pugh of Philomath, Ralph Pugh of Eugene and Robert Pugh of Junction City; and sisters Leila Blair and Pauline Flock, both of Kelso, Wash., and Betty Counts of Sweet Home. Six grandchildren and two great-grandsons also survive. A son and daughter died before her.
A graveside service was held Tuesday at the West Lawn Cemetery in Eugene. The Sweet Home VFW officiated.
Huston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Violet Pugh Jan. 6, 1924 in Oakridge and moved to Crawfordsville in 1949. She had lived in Brownsville since 1950.
She married Jack Steinborn July 22, 1941 in Reno. He died Jan. 5, 1974.
She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Sweet Home.
She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter. Survivors include: three sons, Ed of Sweet Home, Dennis of Brownsville, and Daniel of Eugene; daughter Carol Goldwater of Banks; three brothers, Jesse Pugh of Philomath, Ralph Pugh of Eugene, and Robert Pugh of Junction City; three sisters, Leila Blair and Pauline Flock, both of Kelso, Wash., and Betty Counts of Sweet Home, and six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
