Obit.—Clova Nell Fikes West, 88, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 12, 1916, in Grant County, a daughter of the late Jesse Fikes and Lucy Bryles Fikes.
She was reared and received her education at Sulphur Springs, where she attended Sulphur Springs High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Sulphur Springs Methodist Church, where she was a past president of United Methodist Women.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow West, whom she married Dec. 24, 1936, at Pine Bluff; five brothers, Roy Fikes, Ralph Fikes, Arthur Fikes, Conley Fikes and J. N. Fikes; and four sisters, Ava Smith, Darn Browning, Ara Ashcraft and Mattie Mae Riggs.
Survivors include one son, Woodrow “Woody” West of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Catherine Storz of Pine Bluff and Kay Kelly of Little Rock; one sister, Eva Lee Hervey of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with the Revs. Jay Culpepper and Carroll Ray Fikes officiating. Burial will be in Fitzhugh Cemetery.
Visitation will be form 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
