Son of Henry H. Moore and Elizabeth Minkler Moore. When he was Christened he was given his Maternal Grandfather's first name John and he was given the middle name of Henry (like his Father). It is not known why he changed his middle name to contain the letter B later on in life.
He was Brother to Ada Moore (1837-?), Alice Moore Marshall (1841-1872), Hannah E Moore Simmons (1842-1921), Peter R Moore (1844-1893), Edward Moore (1847-?), Mary Moore (1849-?), Susan Moore Shultis (1852-1927) and F Moore female (1854-?).
He was 1/2 Brother to Charles Moore (May 1862-1919), Addie Moore (1865-?), Caroline H Moore Switzer (1866-1940) and Katherine L Moore (1869-1938) through the death of his Mother, Elizabeth in 1856 and his Father's marriage to Catharine L Lewis.
He was married to Elizabeth Maria Sigler Moore (1838-1915) on Nov. 19, 1859 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Clermont. Father to Clara Moore Vosburgh (1861-1945), Martha Moore Murray (1863-1955), Giles C Moore (1865-1928), Clarence B Moore (1867-1943), Frederick Moore (1870-1947), Cornelia Moore Bates (1874-1967), Lillian Moore Baer (1876-1952), Esther Bouton Moore Poole (1878-1952) and J Garfield Moore (1881-1912)
He was a Butcher like his Father, Henry H Moore, in his early part of his life before he was known to be a Fruit grower. In Dec. 1890 he went into the Butcher business with John Clark at the residence located at No. 2 Wall Street in the Village of Tivoli, Dutchess Co. NY. John B Moore was also the tax collector for the Town of Red Hook. John B died from a severe head ache or what is thought of as Cerebral Hemorrhage or stroke. Later news paper articles report that the final determination was that his heart gave out.
