Son of Giles C. and Edith Rivenburgh Moore. Brother to Ruth M. Moore Lynk. Served his country in World War I. Veteran who was mustard gassed. He served in the Field Hospital in the battle in the Argonne Forest in France. He married Ethel May Burwell (1906-1975) and had four Children: Herbert, Elizabeth (Betty), Raymond and Edward. Edward retired from the New York Central Railroad He was also a member of the Monumental Lodge #374 of the Free and Accepted Masons of Tivoli. He died from Heart disease after a bout with Pneumonia.

It is believed that he received his middle name Losee from the Dr. who delivered him.
