CUMBERLAND,MARYLAND -- Ellen N. Abbott, 78, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born June 9, 1920, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Emma Alexander. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Burton Abbott, in 1947; six brothers; and two sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Abbott was a retired hairdresser and cosmetologist. She was a former inspector for the Board of Cosmetology. She was a member of Central Assembly of God Church and the McKinley Chapter #12 Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one son, Edward T. Abbott and wife, Judy, Cumberland; one granddaughter, Heather Robison and husband, Shannon, LaVale; and one great-grandson, Taylor Robison.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral services will be conducted at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Copen officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
The family requests contributions be made to the Lighthouse Church of God of Prophecy, 307 Wallace St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
