Dick was the son of John Andrew Holland Sr. and his second wife, Mollie Mobley Garrett Holland. They are buried in Buffalo Cemetery in Leon Co, TX. He married Mary Ellen Griffin 16 July 1911. She died between 1920 and 1930, probably in Fort Worth. They were the parents of two children, Harold Holland and Helen Marie Holland. After Mary's death, Dick married Thelma Lou Wade. He was residing in River Oaks at the time of his death in a Fort Worth hospital.
