My Granduncle, Samuel McKinnon, was born as the 7th child and 7th son of Archibald McKinnon, Sr., and his first wife, Mary McKay, in Randolph, Utah, on 3 September 1873.

Having grown up in the small farming community of Randolph, it is not surprising that once he reached the age of 23, he opted to attend college at the Agricultural College in Logan, Utah (now called Utah State University).

During his college years he'd visit relatives in Randolph and/or Salt Lake City for summer break or at Christmas, and then return to his studies at the Agricultural College in Logan.

His graduation appears to have occured around 1900 or 1901, as a clipping speaks of his arrival at "The Kenyon" hotel in Salt Lake City on 22 October 1901, when he was 28-years old.

He soon became a salesman for the Utah Woolen Mills for many years, and his death certificate indicates that was his occupation at the time of his death. His obiturary indicates he lived in Salt Lake City, at 356 Third East Street, for 20-years.

His obituary, which was signed by his younger brother Lemuel McKinnon (also a resident in Salt Lake City), indicates he was single at the time of his passing, having apparently never married.

He was returned to his birthplace, Randolph, Utah, for interment in the Randolph City Cemetery, near his parents.
