Captain Helaire Krebs Grant died at his home at 207 Grant street, this city, on Wednesday afternoon, and was buried Thursday afternoon in Greenwood cemetery.
Rev. Father B. O'Reilly of the Catholic church performing the last sad rites.

Captain Grant had been ill for a number of years, having been stricken with paralyses some six years ago, with which, on account of his age, he was unable to cope.

Deceased was 78 years of age and had lived his entire life in Pascagoula, consequently he was identified with much of the earlier history of the city.

His wife, who was Miss Marie Louise Krebs, had preceded him to the grave about nine years ago, since which time he had lived in the old home with his daughters, Misses Lucy and Adele Grant, who with another sister, Mrs. J.B.Larsen of this city, and one son, Harry K Grant of Texas, are his immediate surviving family.

Capt. Grant was formerly a steamboat captain and had run out of this port for years on boats between Mobile and New Orleans, and was well known to older citizens of the Gulf Coast.
