In 1954 the remains of Owen & Honor were removed from the family farm they started in 1809 before Indiana was a state. The farm is about 1/4 of a mile southwest of here.

Owen WAS NOT a Revolutionary War veteran as some have claimed but he was a Lt. in the Indiana State Militia in 1822.

The date of his birth (1745) was not originally on the stone. It was calculated from a statement made by his great-granddaughter Mildred Seaney. In a tribute to her grandfather Samuel she stated Owen's age as 86 when he died.
