Doreen S. Dilley, 82, Martinsville, died at 11:28 a.m. on April 24, 2006, at the Waters of Martinsville.

Born May 21, 1923, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Charles O. and Carrie (Sieveking) Mather. She married Wendell L. Dilley on April 4, 1943. He survives in Martinsville.

Dilley was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martinsville.

She was an 1942 graduate of Bloomington High School.

She had lived in Martinsville for over 60 years, coming from Bloomington.

She loved flower gardening, cooking, walking, reading and her family.

Survivors include a son, David Dilley of Martinsville, five grandchildren, Brian, Jeff and Nathan Dilley, Alisa Neal and Tricia Anderson, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Bruce Dilley; two brothers, William and Howard Mather; and three sisters, Evelyn Anthis, Ellen Aldridge and Nelia Jerrell.

The service was held on Thursday at Neal and Summers Mortuary in Martinsville. Burial was in New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville. The Rev. Mark Suter officiated.
