1928 - 2005

Donald E. Cation, 77, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Sunday, December 25, 2005 at the Allen Co. Hospital in Iola. He was born April 6, 1928 at Savonburg, Ks., the son of Homer A. & Elsie Berglund Cation.

He grew up and attended schools in Humboldt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He and his wife Norma lived for many years and raised their 3 boys in Augusta, while he worked in the Maintanance Dept. at Beechcraft Aircraft and later at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. The family moved to LaHarpe in 1983 and he then worked at Cisco in Chanute where he retired. He later worked as a stock clerk at Country Mart in Iola.

He married Norma B. Hartman in May 1952. She survives.

Other survivors include 3 sons, Douglas Cation, and his wife Gale, El Dorado, Keith Cation, Augusta, and Kevin Cation, La Harpe; a sister, Verona Laver, Humboldt.

He was cremated.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, December 30, 2005 with military honors at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, with Lloyd Houk officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel, 908 Central, Humboldt, Ks. 66748.
