Norma B. Cation, 77, LaHarpe, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at the Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola.

Norma was born in Decatur, Ark., on August 1, 1934, the daughter of Arthur and Laura Hoffman Gericke.

She was united in marriage to Donald Cation on May 12, 1952. He preceded her in death in Dec. 25, 2005.

Norma was a professional seamstress, working at Fruhauf in Wichita and H.L. Miller's in Iola.

She was an avid gardener and bird watcher, and loved to care for children.

Norma is survived by three sons, Douglas Cation and wife, Gale, El Dorado, Keith Cation, Augusta, and Kevin Cation and wife, Gina, LaHarpe; two granddaughters, Amber McCarthy and Jennifer Cation, both of El Dorado; two great-grandsons, Scott and Colten McCarthy, El Dorado; her brother, Bill Gericke, Chanute; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Wanda Bauerle and Theda Christmas, and one brother, Ernest Hartman.

Memorials in her name may be made to Windsor Place Nursing Home and may be left with the funeral home.
