Mary was the daughter of John Weaver and Susan Aurand.

The following obituary appeared in the Democratic Herald newspaper, 6 May 1875, p. 3:
Mrs. Mary Overmyer, whose maiden name was Mary Weaver, was born in the State of Pennsylvania, in the year 1799. While a child she came with her parents to Ohio. At about the age of twenty she was married to a Mr. Gordy, who lived but a few years. In 1827 she was married to Jacob Overmyer, who died two years since. She has resided at Circleville, Zanesville, Thornville, Somerset - living nearly forty years at the latter place, where she died. She has had ten children, five of whom preceded her to the spirit land. Two, by the first marriage, died in early childhood; Martha J. died at New Lexington, in 1857; William H. at Somerset in 1862; and George W. somewhere in the South in 1868. The remaining children are J. W. Overmyer, of Lancaster; J. L. Overmyer, of Louisville, Kentucky; Mrs. Susan Huffines, of McArthur, and Mrs. Elizabeth Philips, and Mrs. Mary Ritchey, of Somerset.
She was early baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and she remained a devoted and consistent member thereof up to the time of her death.
When in health she was regular in her attendance upon divine service, and it took more than a rainy or disagreeable day to keep her away from the house of God. She was a frequent visitor of the sick and afflicted, and was one of the best and kindest of neighbors, and was very often a friend indeed, because a friend in need.[sic]
A funeral sermon was preached at the Lutheran Church, in Somerset, by Rev. D. M. Wiseman, upon the occasion of her death, and many friends followed her earthly remains to their last resting place. But her spirit has returned to God who gave it.

Message from Polly Cox:
I have a copy of the application for Letters of Administration in the Estate of Catharine Norris in which she names her siblings, including Mary Weaver, wife of Jacob Obermyer. Catharine and Mary's parents were John Weaver and Susan Aurand. Eve Aurand Weaver was Susan's sister and the wife of John's brother, Anthony Weaver. John and Susan Weaver are my 3X great grandparents. Thanks!
