Services were held Monday for John J. Propernick,who died suddenly at the Salida Hospital on November 11.

Propernick was born on Noovember 10, 1912 in Leadville where he lived until 1930 when his family moved to Buena Vista.

He was engaged in farming with his father and brothers until 1948 when he started work at the Colorado State Reformatory. He worked at CSR for 28 years before retiring in 1974.

Survivors include his widow, Rena; two sons and a daughter, all of Buena Vista; two brothers, Anthony and Frank, also of Buena Vista; a sister, Angela Herin of Eagle, Colorado and several nieces and nephews.

Rosary was held Sunday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with services at 10 a.m. Monday in the Catholic Church with father Jerome Rykowski officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the building fund of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
