Annie Elizabeth Burnside Coates, 74, died August 15, 1991 at the home of her daughter in Layton.

Born April 24, 1917 in Mtn. Ville, Utah, a daughter of John Mason and Loretta Rowe Burnside.

Married Ray J. Coates, February 7, 1935 in Manti, Utah.

He died June 6, 1979.

Member of the LDS Church and Rebeccah Lodge.

Served in Relief Society presidency and was a visitng teacher for many years.

Worked at Sanpete Valley Hospital and Miller's Bakery.

Survived by one son and two daughters, Doyce L. Coates, Monroe; Utahna Coates, Salt Lake City and Cheryle Madsen, Layton; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, one sister, Hugh Burnside, Salt Lake City; John Burnside, Fairview; Edna Spens, Moroni.

Preceded in death by brother, Ralph Burnside.

Funeral services, Saturday, August 17, 1991 at 1 p.m., Mt. Pleasant Fourth LDS Ward Chapel.

Friends call Ursenbach Funeral Home from 11 to 12:30 prior to services.

Interment: Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
