Funeral for Christine Westmoreland Mitchell, 93, of Decatur will be Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Mitchell, who died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation, was born June 1, 1914, in Morgan County to William Durham Westmoreland and Minnie Bell Edmondson Westmoreland. She was retired as an LPN. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde Stephenson and Melvin Mitchell; her son, Bobby Stephenson; and two sisters, Bunny Bice and Polly Woodall.
Survivors include three daughters, Pat Nixon and husband, Ray, and Peggy Wipperman and husband, Carl, both of Decatur, and Lynda Davis and husband, Bill, of LaGrange, Ga.; one son, John Stephenson, and wife, Patsy, of Hartselle; one brother, Charles E. Westmoreland of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Jonnie Greene of Montgomery; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grand-children.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
