Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. for Clyde Stephenson, of Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., and formerly of Decatur, who was killed in an automobile accident Thursday. Services were held at the Austinville Methodist Church with burial in the city cemetery in Decatur.
The deceased was widely known in Decatur, having been employed at various times by the state Highway Department and the Ingalls Shipbuilding Corporation.
Rev. I.H. Estes was in charge of the funeral service. He was assisted by Mrs. Mary Miller, of the Church of God.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Christine Stephenson; two daughters, Patsy and Peggy Stephenson, Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Bob and John Stephenson, Mt. Pleasant; his father, W.E. Stephenson, Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. Chester King, Mrs. Jane Howell and Mrs. William Tanner, all of Decatur; and two brothers, Neil Stephenson, Decatur and Gene Stephenson, Talladega.
