Tin type Photo of my great, great grandmother Elisabeth Van der Beek Rathbone (seated far right) and family. Not sure where this was taken. Possibly Parkersburg or Burning Springs. I believe the empty chair represented her husband off to war, John Castelli Rathbone, as that was tradition in those days to have an empty chair at the dinner table for soldiers killed or just not home due to being in the civil war. I am not sure of the other family members names. I inherited this photo from my grandmother Delores Rathbone Schupp Leard
