Mrs. Teague was born November 4, 1920 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Stewart Blaine Hayes and Esther Coffey Hayes.
She was a retired inspector for Melville Shoe Plant and Trailway Laundry and Cleaners. Mrs. Teague was a member of Westview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Teague is survived by one son, David G. Teague and wife Carol of Boone; one daughter, Bonnie T. Hamby and husband Phil of Lenoir; one granddaughter, Shannon Hamby of Lenoir; three grandsons, Mike Teague and wife Nancy of Boone, Chris Teague and wife Karen of Creedmore, North Carolina, and Shane Hamby of Lenoir, and two sisters, Addie Lewis of North Wilkesboro, and Snow Townsend of Boone. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Teague; one son, Dayton Teague; five sisters, Doyce Shore, Lucy Anderson, Vera Greer, Stella Hodges, and Wilma Hodges, and five brothers, Carl, Ray, Blaine, Edward, and Alton Hayes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladyce Hayes Teague will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, October 20, 2009, at 2:00 o'clock, at Westview Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 12:30 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Zane Tester and Reverend Burl Greer.
Burial will follow in Westview Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, from 12:30 until 2:00 o'clock, at the church, prior to the service. At other times, friends may call at the home of the son, David Teague, 481 Highland Avenue, Boone.
