Joseph B. Clever Sr., 82, of Kittanning RD1 died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000 at Grey's Colonial Acres, Kittanning RD1. He was born May 17, 1918 in Reesdale to Benjamin Joseph and Irene (Croyle) Clever. Mr. Clever was a coal miner. An Ari Force veteran, he served during World War II. He was an active member of Mt. Union Bible Church, Kittanning RD2. He was a member of UMWA Local 3063. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing guitar and mouth organ. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy E. (Adams) Clever; two sons, Joseph B. Clever Jr. of Kittanning RD6 and Lindsey R. Clever of Dayton RD2; four daughters, Carolyn Wadding of Home RD1, Joan Wolfe of Templeton RD1, Isabell Stile of Ernest and Rhoda Mikita of Nashville; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, John Clever of New Castle; and three sisters, Ruby Campbell of Kittanning and Edith Fletcher and Sara Garhard, both of New Castle. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fred, Willy and Lindy Clever; and three sisters, Luella Wolfe, Grace George and Avanelle Robinson. CLEVER – Friends of Joseph B. Clever Sr., 82, of Kittanning RD1, who died Dec. 31, 2000, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, Inc., 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Jack Peters of Mt. Union Bible Church officiating. Interment will be made in Davis Cemetery, Kittanning RD2. Arrangements by Snyder-Crissman.
