William C. Austin died Wednesday at home near Boody. His death was caused by pneumonia,following a severe attack of the Grip. He attended the Blue Mound Methodist church.
He was born Jan.1,1842 a few miles from the house in which he died. He was the son of the late Squire Austin who laid out much of the city of Decatur. He was married at Topeka,Kan.in 1876. He is survived by his wife and five children. They are Frank,W.M.,Mrs. Carrie Moore,Mrs. Anna Scott,Miss Etta Austin all living in the vicinity of Boody. He was a grandson of Major Wornick,one of the early sheriffs of Macon county.
The funeral will be held Friday from the Bethlehem church with burial in the Salem cemetery.
