Mrs. Mabel Meyers, 75, a longtime Arbon Valley and Michaud resident, died at St. Anthony Community Hospital Friday after a short illness.

Born Dec. 8, 1897, at Dempsey, Idaho, she was the daughter of Robert and Adelia Quigley Butterfield. The family moved to Rockland when she was a child and she made her home there and at Crystal for many years.

On April 16, 1917, she was married to John H. Meyers at Pocatello. He died October 9, 1953.

Mrs. Meyers had made her home at Michaud since 1958. She was widely known for her beautiful flower gardens. She was a former member of Ivy Rebekah Lodge No. 23. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include a son, Merle J. Meyers, Michaud; a daughter, Mrs. Willard (Elizabeth) Higdon, Roy, Utah; three brothers, Alma Butterfield, Shoshone; James, Boise and Howard, Worland, Wyo; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Peck, Littleton, Colo., and Mrs. Florence Anderson, Pocatello; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, June, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Downard Chapel. Burial will be in the family plot in Mountainview Cemetery under direction of the Downard Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Downard Funeral Home Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. Idaho State Journal, Sunday, December 2, 1973
