Glenn W. Parsons, former Fairfielder, was one of 47 persons killed in a Michigan plane crash Sunday night. A corporation patent attorny, he was returning to his job site after spending Easter with his family in Upper Montclair, N.J.

Parsons' two brothers, Milford Parsons and Wesley Parsons left Fairfield this morning on a trip to St. Louis, Mo., without knowing of his death. Left behind when Parsons took off from Newark airport in the Viscount airliner were his wife, Barbara, and daughters, Linda, 12, and Diana, 9.

Parsons, 47, had completed arrangements over the weekend for the sale of their home. His family was to join him later at Midland, Mich., scene of the air tragedy and home office of Dow Chemical, Co., Parsons' firm.

Parsons is also survived by a third brother, Monte Parsons, Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Don Cowen, Oak Ridge, Tenn, and his father, Will G. Parsons, St. Petersburg, Fla. His mother is deceased.

Parsons was born in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield high school and Parsons college. He was a member of the Parsons class of 1933. He also recieved a doctor of philosophy degree from Western Reserve University in 1937 and a law degree from New York University in 1956. Before joining Dow recently, Parsons was director of Patent and Trade Mark Division and a research engineer for Food Machinery and Chemical Corp. in Upper Montclair since 1952.
