PAUL OTTO HICKOK was born July 11, 1920 in Austin, Minnesota, the son of the late Otto Hickok and Bertha (Voss) Hickok. He was raised and received his education to the eighth grade in Minnesota. He achieved his G.E.D. in 1967.
He was united in marriage to Doris Virginia (LiaBraaten) Hickok on June 27, 1945 in Minnesota. In 1948, they moved to Hot Springs, South Dakota where they raised their eight children. In November 2005, they moved to Forest Grove. They celebrated over sixty-three years of marriage.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, on August 28, 2008 at their home in Forest Grove.
Paul was a self-employed electrician, HVAC technician, auctioneer, real estate broker and home builder.

Paul served on the Board of the Jaycees, Mammoth Site, and the Fall River Pioneer Museum in Hot Springs, South Dakota. He was President of the Residents Council at Wynwood.
Among his special interests he enjoyed flying, reading, traveling, working in his shop, and visiting with everyone he met.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers and by his daughter, Susan.
Survivors include his eight children and their spouses, Nancy Hunter, of Seattle, Washington; David Hickok, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Vivian and Bill Rediske, of Anchorage, Alaska; Joyce and Eldon Jossi, of Gales Creek, Oregon; Janet Hickok of Anchorage, Alaska; Karen Hickok, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Duane and Kylee Hickok, of Anchorage, Alaska; and Nelda and Don Carlson, of Anchorage, Alaska.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Greg Hunter and Kelly Flowers, of Portland, Oregon; Scott and Jennifer Hunter, of Edmonds, Washington; Bryan and Tanya Hickok, of Anchorage, Alaska; Erin Hickok, of Austin, Texas; Kelli Rice, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Rachel Rediske, of Portland, Oregon; Erica Jossi, of Ontario, Oregon; Tyler Jossi and Tanner Jossi, of Gales Creek, Oregon; and Ryan, Kinley and Mia Hickok, of Anchorage, Alaska; his great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Trinity and Brighton Hunter; Andrew, Abigail and Hannah Hickok; and Zoe, Aeris and Zander Rice and numerous and much loved, nieces and nephews and innumerable friends.
The family suggests that remembrances may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Washington County, 900 SE Oak Street #202, Hillsboro, Oregon 97123, in his memory.
