Services for Owlet Pauline Jones were held at the First Christian Church with Rev. B. Robert Devin, pastor, officiating.
Interment was in the Masonic cemetery beside her husband.
Owlet Pauline Barton was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Barton. She grew up at Dudley attending school there.
Owlet Pauline Barton married E.A. Jones on 24 January 1900 at the family home in Dudley, Texas. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Portales, New Mexico where they homesteaded. The moved to Baylor County in 1905. In 1906, they bought 160 acres near the old England schoolhouse, nine miles east of Seymour. Seven children were raised on that land. They were living there when Mr. Jones suffered a heart attack and died while plowing. In 1942, Mrs. Jones sold the farm and bought a home in Seymour.
Mrs. Jones had been a member of the First Christian Church since the age of 15 years. She was devoted to her family and loyal to her friends.
Survived by her sons - Loyd D. Jones, Sam W. Jones and Woodrow Jones; four daughters - Mrs. Bert Gray, Mrs. Walter Cooper, Mrs. Juanita Hickey and Mrs. Morgan Bowman; three brothers - Jim, Seth and Homer Barton; three sisters - Mrs. Sam Johnson, Mrs. Dorcas Crawford and Mrs. Ephia Barton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
