Mrs. Ida Jane Mounts died early Monday morning at the home of her son Edgar Mounts in Thorntown, after a serious illness of one week. She had lived with her son since the death of her husband, the late Thomas B. Mounts, in 1948.
She was born in Washington county Dec 24, 1867 and was the daughter of Charles E. and Jemima Weir Tatlock. Mrs. Mounts held membership in the Methodist church at New Philadelphia.
Survivors are seven children, Edgar Mounts of Thorntown; Mrs. Grace Presley of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Mattie Howell of Detroit Michigan, Miss Blanche Mounts of Salem; Mrs. Cora Empson of Brownstown; Roy Mounts of Birmingham, Iowa; and James A. Mounts of Fowler, Ind.; two brothers Virgil Tatlock, Goodland, Ind. and Herschel Tatlock of Covington, Tennessee; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Sanders of Austin and Mrs. Cora Carter of Oakland, Calif; 26 grandchildren and 24 great grand-children.
The body was brought from the Russell Hitch Funeral Home at Thorntown to the Smith Funeral Home in Salem where services were held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) by the Rev. Noble Trueblood, with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
