Primitive Baptist preacher. His son, Hassell, was also a Primitive Baptist preacher.

ROBINSON-WALLIS DEBATE
D. P. Craig, Walnut. Miss., May 12: "The Robinson-Wallis debate was held in the courthouse at Ripley, Miss. W. C. Wallis, Primitive Baptist, affirmed the first two nights that to the dead alien sinner salvation is unconditional. D. L. Robinson of the church of Christ affirmed the last two nights that salvation to the dead alien sinner is conditional. Brother Robinson did some fine work and made an excellent impression upon the people by reason of his able and courteous defense of the truth, and his arguments were plain and convincing. Elder Wallis has good qualities as a debater and tried as hard as any man I ever saw to prove his doctrine and discredit the truth. Quite a number of his brethren went away dissatisfied with his efforts. The debate was attended by people from other towns and counties, and each night the courthouse was filled to overflowing. Good order and interest prevailed in every session. A Mr. Bullard moderated for Elder Wallis, and the writer for Brother Robinson." --- Gospel Advocate, May 24, 1934, 507.
