BALDWYN - Vera Barber Carr, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was born Feb. 19, 1915, in the Dry Creek community of Prentiss County to Lenora McElroy Wallis and Spencer Wallis. She was a homemaker and a child daycare provider for many years. She was a member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church in Baldwyn.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with the Rev. Jimmy Wallis officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Jo Bates of Baldwyn; two sons, Charlie Barber (Emily) and Tommy Barber (Dianne), both of Tupelo; one stepdaughter, Becky McVey (Eldon) of Booneville; one stepson, Terry Carr of Manila, Ark.; a half sister, Rose Ganus of Savannah, Tenn.; a half brother, Glen Wallis of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Eddie Lewis (Millie) and David Lewis, both of Baldwyn, Chuck Barber (Tina) of Tupelo, Andi Pee (Jason) of Saltillo and Christie White (Christian) of Dallas, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren.
