Vianna Jewell Dodson Peters was born in Clayton, New Mexico on May 7, 1919 to Hubert William Dodson and Rebecca (Parman) Dodson. Her family moved to Sayre, Oklahoma when she was a small child. She attended school in Sayre, Doxey and Meridan, Oklahoma. She married Jack Peters on October 6, 1936 in Arnett, Oklahoma. Children were Scott, born in 1938, JoAnn born in 1941, Jim born in 1945, Tom born in 1949 and twins Rebecca June and Rosa Jane born in 1951. The family lived in Roger Mills County until they moved to Foss in 1951, where Jack ran a business for 40 years. Jack and Jewell moved to Bethany, Oklahoma in 1991. Jewell continued to live in Bethany after Jack's death in 1995. In 2001 Jewell moved to Spanish Cove Retirement Village in Yukon, Oklahoma. She died there in 2002. She was the perfect example of kindness and grace. A devout Christian lady who influenced her family as well as countless friends and neighbors.
