Death of Isaac Zook
Resident of Arkansas City for 20 Years Passes Away Today.
Isaac Zook, of 701 South E street, died this morning at the family home at 6:30 o'clock. The cause of his death was a complication of diseases and in the past several months he had been a sufferer from Bright's disease. He had been in a critical condition for several days past and his death at this time was not unexpected. Mr. Zook leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. J.W. Long, to mourn his death. The deceased was a native of the state of Indiana and he was born near Hagerstown, on July 19, 1859. He was therefore 64 years, 3 months and 3 days of age. Mr. Zook had been a resident of Kansas for about 22 years and with his family had lived in Arkansas City for the past twenty years. He was one of the best known citizens of this community, and had been quite active here up until a short time before his death.
Following his death this morning the body was removed from the residence to Kirkpatrick's undertaking parlors. The funeral services will be held tomorrow at one o'clock at the Christian church. Rev. J.E. Henshaw officiating. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
Mrs. Long, the daughter, has been residing in Arkansas for several years past and she came here some time ago for a visit with her parents. It is now her intentions to make this city her home in the future.
