Last Rites for Orvell Clancy of San Felipe Held

Last rites for Orvell C Clancy of San Felipe were held from the Chapel of the Pete E Etlinger Funeral Home here at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 4 with Rev. Veryl Edgerly of Sealy conducting the last rites. Interment was held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston at 1:00 p.m. Etlinger Funeral Home of Sealy was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Rudy Fojtasek, Bill Sodolak, Larry Anderson, Luke Hill, Albert Sodolak and Henry Micak, Jr.

Born in Greenwood, Texas on May 11, 1919, he was reared in Greenwood and attended Erick, Oklahoma Public School. On February 21, 1942, he was united in marriage to Miss Ineta Elliott in El Reno, Oklahoma. He worked at Cameron Iron Works for twenty eight years and also farmed, and was a member of the San Felipe Volunteer Fire Department.

Clancy passed away at his late home in San Felipe at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, April 30 of a heart condition, attaining the age of 62 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ineta Clancy of San Felipe; two daughters, Mrs. Laverne Hinnant of Houston and Mrs. Linda Cavanaugh of Clyde; four sons, Wayne, Larry and Melvin of Houston and Cecil of San Felipe; two sisters Mrs. Velma Harkins of Oregon and Mrs. Birdie Carter of Clovis, New Mexico; five brothers, Lawrence of Madera, California, Ervin of Liberal, Kansas, Burl of Riverside, California, Martin of Amarillo, Texas, and Elmer of Staten Island, New York; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one infant son, Raymond Wayne.
