Last Rites Are Held Monday For Resident Of Alta Community

Florence Isabelle Brown, beloved wife of Floyd W. Brown, was born April 18, 1907 in Alta, the daughter of Fred C. and Mary Harker Campbell and passed away at her home Friday night after an extended illness.
She attended the old Glendale grade school, Dunlap high school and Illinois State Normal University and taught school in this vicinity for several years. October 20, 1932, she was united in marriage to Floyd Brown in the Alta Presbyterian church by Rev, Walter G. McAdeo, to which this union were born five children.
A devoted mother, her first thoughts were for her family. Taking an equal place was her work in Sunday school, church, Christian Endeavor and WCTU. In all of theses organizations she took an active interest as her health and family permitted.
She is survived by her husband; five children, Floyd Willis Jr., Robert Leslie, Arlene Mae, Ronnie Lee and Harold Thomas; her father and mother of Route 2, Peoria; and two brothers and two sisters; Mrs. Marion Linder of Joliet, Robert Campbell of Dunlap, Harold Campbell of Route 2, Peoria and Mrs. Ethel Smith of Dunlap, besides a host of relatives and friends.
Her kindly and friendly disposition and Christian attitude on life endeared her to all who and was attested by the many deeds of kindness shown her during her prolonged illness, which was marked by her cheerfulness and at the last by her faith in God and the certainty of an everlasting peace.
She was a member of the Alta Presbyterian church and Sunday school, WCTU and Alta Chapter OES.
Mrs. Emily Bouton accompanied by Mrs. Fanchon Hall, sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "Sunrise Beautiful Isle of Heaven."

Bearers were Donald Cline, David Shaw, John Williams, Lloyd Jones, Homer Pierce and Merle Kent.
Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
