Mads C. Andersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anders Sachariasen, was born in Hjorring, Denmark, January 30, 1884.
After an illness of more than a year, he passed away at his home north of superior, july 12, 1941, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 12 days.
He came to America alone in the early spring of 1903 and settled at Hardy, Nebr.
On March 12, 1908, he was united in marriage to Christi M. Petersen of Hardy. They established their home south of Nelson, from which they moved to the Cadams vicinity where Mr. Andersen operated a hardware store for a time, before engaging in farming, his present occupation.
For the last twenty years he was a livestock buyer, a business through which he made many friends.
Mads, as he was familiarly known to his friends, had great respect for the youth. He lived a true example, thoughtful of others, patient, and never complaining.
He was a faithful husband and father. He loved his family and his home. As a boy he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Gladys and Erma Miller. Another daughter, Beulah, preceded him in death Nov. 3, 1917. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Chris. Fredericksen of Hardy and Mrs. Anton Damm of Superior; four brothers, Zakarias, Chris and Marinus of Superior and Paul of Denver, Colo., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church in Hardy, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. William Swartzwelder of Superior and interment was at Ruskin.
